Divock Origi thought to be closing in on Beskitas loan switch

Divock Origi has not had the easiest of times at Liverpool since arriving in the summer of 2014.

The 23-year-old will forever be remembered by those at Anfield for ‘being in the right place at the right time’ in the most recent Merseyside derby after he managed to head the ball home from Jordan Pickford’s howler.

However, he has struggled to make a real impact and has been sent on a couple of loans to try and find regular football.

And, according to reports in Turkey, it appears another temporary move could be on the horizon for the Belgium international.

Sporx are claiming Liverpool are close to completing a deal with Besiktas that will see Origi head to the Istanbul outfit on a loan deal to the end of the season.

It is claimed the Turkish outfit have a good relationship with the Premier League outfit and are thought to be close to convincing them to let the £9million-rated attacker, as per Transfermarkt, join them.

Besiktas, though, want to have an option to sign the Belgian on a permanent deal at the end of the loan spell, something Jurgen Klopp does not appear to be favourable to.

The Verdict:

Despite getting the winner in the Merseyside derby, Origi’s chances at Liverpool continue to look limited and a loan move could be a great way of him getting regular action once again.

However, it remains to be seen if the two sides can come to an agreement about a possible deal, with the clubs appearing to be looking for different terms.

Should Origi join Besiktas, he would team up with Loris Karius in Istanbul.
