The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that the club are interested in Celtic’s livewire left-back, Kieran Tierney. According to a story in The Express, via The Sun, the 20-year-old defender has been touted as Spurs next left-back to replace the soon to be departing, Danny Rose, who’s fallen out of favour in North London.

Tottenham have been linked with a number of defensive targets as they prepare for the exits of both Rose and Toby Alderweireld. The pair have had their issues with the club over the last year. Rose came out and did an interview claiming he was tired of Spurs signing players ‘that you have to google’ and said he would definitely play up north before the end of his career, helping stories linking him with Manchester United to write themselves.
Alderweireld had other problems. The Belgian has been unable to agree with the club on personal terms, as he supposedly wants a four-year deal worth £200,000 per week, something the club are unwilling to offer the 29-year-old centre-back. The issues with the pair have lead to the likes of Celtic’s Tierney, Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon and Ajax’s Matthijs De Ligt being linked with a sensational switch to North London.
