The Arsenal fans were in fine spirits in the Transfer Tavern last night after their side recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Ostersunds in Sweden in the first knockout round of the Europa League.
Arsenal travelled to Sweden last night to face an Ostersunds side who have made plenty of headlines in the British media due to their rapid rise from the fourth tier of Swedish football to the Allsvenskan in the space of just 7 seasons. Naturally, the story of their opponents ensured there was plenty of pre-match hype for Arsenal’s Europa League fixture, but The Gunners ensured that the night would be remembered for their glaring superiority rather than for a fairy tale victory for Graham Potter’s side.
Arsene Wenger selected a relatively full-strength team for his side’s fixture last night, but he was forced into a mandatory change upfront due to Alexandre Lacazette’s absence through injury and Pierre Emerick Aubamyeang’s ineligibility.
The absence of the aforementioned players paved the way for Danny Welbeck to make a rare start for the club.In anticipation for his appearance, the former Arsenal legend and now BT Sport pundit Martin Keown claimed that the England international had a chance to make the strikers position his own last night, but the Arsenal supporters are clearly along way from sharing that opinion.
In response to Keown’s comments, the supporters took to Twitter to slate his naivety and ridicule the former fan-favourite for his opinion regarding Welbeck’s capabilities at the club.
Here’s what a selection of the Arsenal fans have had to say about Martin Keown on Twitter…

So they spent approx. £110m on 2 strikers just to have Welbeck as their long term 1st choice? Keown is a laugh a minute.
