Domino effect: Barca’s Malcolm deal could mean that Dembele joins Arsenal

Domino effect: Barca’s Malcolm deal could mean that Dembele joins Arsenal

In what has been one of Arsenal’s most interesting summers, Arsenal have conducted some great business this window.

Arsenal could still deep into the transfer market if they find a holding midfielder or winger. Steven Nzonzi has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks, although the club aren’t incredibly keen on stumping up the £35 million needed to activate his release clause.

The club may also try to bring in a winger and have been linked with a move to Ousmane Dembele.

The Frenchman’s Barcelona career hasn’t got off to a great start but it would still take a huge fee to pry him away from Barcelona. However, with Malcolm now joining the Catalan club, a move for Dembele may just be about to heat up.

With Malcolm joining Barcelona for £37 million, Dembele’s future at the club seems unclear, and Arsenal could well make a move, albeit on loan rather than on a permanent transfer.

The Breakdown

Although he’s had a faltering start to his career at Barcelona, Dembele is still one of the best young prospects in Europe.

Due to Kylian Mbappe’s meteoric rise, many have forgotten just how good Dembele is and how superb he was at Dortmund.

The youngster would be an incredible signing, even if only on a season-long loan. Combined with Lacazette, Aubameyang and Ozil, Arsenal could have one of the best attacking lineups in Europe.

Dembele’s introduction to Emery’s team would give Arsenal another world-class talent and make the Gunners one of the favourites to win the league.
