Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are not shocked to hear in The Mirror that Arsene Wenger has agreed a deal to sign 16-year-old Argentinian striker Maxi Romero.
The Gunners have been planning a move for a long time now and it will be a huge relief for Wenger to get the deal over line.
It is reported that the deal is worth £4.5m and if he fulfils his potential this fee will look like a bargain in the future.
He is a composed finisher who has picked up lots of attention for his dribbling and eye for goal.
The north London club have supposedly scouted him on plenty of occasions before opening talks with his club Velex Sarsfield.
A stumbling block, which stalled the move was the issues surrounding Romero’s ownership rights, but now Arsenal have overcome this problem and look to have him at the Emirates in no time.
