Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling rotten this morning after seeing their side concede a late equaliser to Liverpool last night but their mood has been lifted somewhat this morning.
It’s been officially confirmed that Arsenal have signed 23-year-old Egyptian international Mohamed Elneny from Swiss side FC Basel, where he won three consecutive Swiss league titles.
Our fans believe it’s a stellar addition that bolsters the midfield ranks at Arsenal and improves the chances of them winning the Premier League this season, with the midfield display last night at Anfield being somewhat under-par.
With Francis Coquelin injured, Elneny comes in as direct cover for the French international and our landlord thinks he could make his debut this weekend- replacing the unimposing Mathieu Flamini, who’s nearing the end of his career.
Having vast experience at international level, which includes helping Egypt reach the quarter-finals of the 2012 London Olympics, Elneny should be a direct improvement on the squad.
