Our resident Blackburn Rovers fans have kept themselves quiet this season after a less-than-impressive campaign which sees them currently sitting in 18th place in the Championship.
However, there have been some raised voices over by the darts board after the Riversiders completed two signings on Wednesday.
The first signing is defender Elliott Ward, signed on a two-and-a-half year deal after his contract was terminated at Bournemouth.
The 31-year old played under current Blackburn boss Paul Lambert in his time at Norwich and he is delighted to have been reunited with the manager. He told the club’s official website:
“It has been a busy few days to try and get it done, but I’m really pleased and I can’t wait to get started training and crack on. I’m looking forward to putting on the shirt and hopefully being involved.”
“Paul Lambert demands standards and he definitely brought mine up a few notches at Norwich and that’s something I want to get back to on a regular basis.”
Ward has spent much of this season on loan at Huddersfield and his Bournemouth deal was cancelled prior to the announcement of his Blackburn deal.
Meanwhile, the Championship outfit have also completed the signing of striker Danny Graham on-loan from Sunderland until the end of the season.
The 30-year old had only started 4 Premier League games for the Black Cats this term and is hoping that a move to Ewood Park may give him more playing time. He said:
“It’s been a mad 24 hours. I was training with Sunderland yesterday morning and then I came down here last night to get things sorted, so I’m delighted to get it done.”
“For me to get out of Sunderland and have a fresh challenge is superb for me, so I’m delighted to get it done. I can’t wait to get going and hopefully we can pull together and move up the table.”
