Done deal: Chelsea complete another signing of international ace

HiddinkChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern had braced themselves for a busy few days in the bar and it’s all begun today, with confirmation of the club’s second signing in as many days.

Sky Sports have confirmed that Matt Miazga has completed his proposed move to Chelsea from MLS franchise New York Red Bulls, following the acquisition of striker Alexandre Pato yesterday.

The 20-year-old defender joins up with the first-team immediately at Stamford Bridge, though he’s unlikely to make his bow anytime soon, and the talented centre-half is delighted by his chance with the defending Premier League champions.

“I am very happy to sign for Chelsea, a world-famous club with a reputation for major success. I am delighted to be in the Premier League, the best league in the world, and can’t wait to meet my team-mates and get going,”

“I am still at the beginning of my career but I believe this is the place to develop and learn from some of the best players in the world.”

Miazga is fully capped for the United States national team and he could see a crucial defensive pairing develop in West London, alongside young French defender Kurt Zouma.

Our landlord just hopes the player will get his chance and won’t turn into another serial loanee from Chelsea, a trend from the Blues he’s not a fan of.

Chelsea fans, will Miazga become a star at Stamford Bridge? Let us know in the comments below!
