Done Deal: Chelsea confirm midfielder agreement

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have very high hopes for Ruben Loftus-Cheek…

Brought into the first team whilst Jose Mourinho was in charge, Loftus-Cheek was touted by many to become the next homegrown Chelsea player to force his way into the first team on a regular basis – but that hasn’t happened.

Over the last year, a mix of injury problems and a lack of trust from Antonio Conte have seen him drop down the pecking order – and now the Blues have done something about it.

As confirmed on the official Chelsea website, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has today moved to Crystal Palace on a season-long loan deal, with Chelsea clearly keen to give him regular first team exposure.

It’s a move that will offer him the opportunity to earn first team football for the first time in his career, having spent much of his time so far on the periphery of the Blues’ first team squad.

A talented midfielder able to impress both offensively and defensively, he has drawn comparisons with Michael Ballack amongst the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern – and that has left the Crystal Palace fans in attendance feeling very excited indeed. Visit FanBet for Betting Promotions leading up to Palace vs Chelsea games for 2017/18.
