Done deal: Everton sign quality midfielder on long-term deal

BesicOur resident Everton fans have been gathering around the bar to discuss the news that Muhamed Besic has signed a new five-and-a-half-year deal at Goodison Park, as confirmed by the club.

The Bosnian midfielder has not been a regular for Everton, having made just 29 league appearances for the Toffees since his move from Ferencvaros back in 2014, but has done enough to warrant a new deal.

Iranian investor Farhad Moshiri recently purchased a 49.9% stake in the Merseyside club and following this, Everton were promised investment.

The Everton fans over by the bar have already seen this demonstrated by the extension of Bryan Oviedo’s contract, whilst our Everton punters are hopeful that Ross Barkley could be set to receive an improved deal.

Speaking about his new deal, 23-year-old Besic said:

“When I first arrived here it was difficult for me but now I feel at home. The supporters, as well as the manager, the staff and my team-mates, have all made me welcome at the club and I feel really happy.”

Everton fans, how happy are you that Besic has penned a new deal? Let us know in the comments below!
