Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have adopted a bleak outlook ahead of tomorrow evening’s crunch-tie against Arsenal, stating their injury-ravaged side has no chance of success.
The Reds have lost a host of first-team defenders to injury in recent weeks and had to recall Tiago Ilori from a loan spell with Aston Villa, with the youngster immediately featuring in Friday’s disappointing 2-2 draw with Exeter City.
Jurgen Klopp has plans to improve his defensive ranks though, with BBC Sport confirming the Merseyside club secured QPR’s Steve Caulker on-loan for the remainder of the campaign.
Caulker is was on-loan with Liverpool’s fellow Premier League side Southampton but he’s failed to make an impression on the South Coast and the deal was cut-short after an agreement between Liverpool and Championship outfit QPR was reached.
Our landlord believes Caulker isn’t quite the defender Liverpool need in the long-term but accepts it’s a good deal on a short-term basis, with the Reds desperately needing to improve their defensive ranks ahead of a crucial stage of the season.
Liverpool fans, would you welcome the addition of Caulker? Let us know in the comments below!
