The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are excited to see what he can do…
As confirmed on the official Man City website, young midfielder Manu Garcia has left the club on a short-term loan deal – joining NAC Breda until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old midfielder has impressed during his exploits at youth level, most notably in the FA Youth Cup, but under Pep Guardiola he has thus far been able to make the breakthrough into the Man City first team.
He spent the first half of the season on loan with Deportivo Alaves, but will now move to NAC Breda as he looks to continue his development.
Our landlord is surprised that Pep Guardiola has yet to have a serious look at Garcia, given that the young Spaniard could be considered a classic Guardiola player. A technical midfielder, Garcia is strong with the ball at his feet and has an eye for a pass, and whilst he needs to develop physically somewhat – the natural ability is all there.
At 19-years-old, Garcia has plenty of time to break into the side under Guardiola, though, and a decent loan spell over the next few months is the best way to ensure that the Spanish boss cannot ignore him next season.
