One Manchester United youngster who will not be making the step-up to first-team stardom at Old Trafford is Ben Pearson, who has today signed a permanent deal with Championship club Preston North End.
One of the Transfer Tavern’s regular drinkers found the news via the Manchester United official site, which confirmed Pearson’s departure from the Premier League club.
With boss Louis van Gaal keen to give youth an opportunity at the Premier League club, it was thought that the 21-year-old central midfielder may get a chance to impress.
Following a loan spell with Barnsley however, the youngster clearly wanted regular football and joins Preston for a fee in the region of £100,000.
One of our Preston supporting drinkers to the Tavern is over by the jukebox and he thinks the signing of Pearson is an indication of the fantastic progress the club are making, and he is looking forward to seeing the youngster in action.
Meanwhile, a handful of Red Devils fans here in the Tavern aren’t too bothered about this news, with them all agreeing Pearson was never likely to get near Louis van Gaal’s starting eleven anytime soon.
