Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have seen Mauricio Pochettino complete another piece of transfer business, as their pints today were interrupted by an official confirmation of a deal.
German side Werder Bremen have confirmed that they have signed Tottenham Hotspur defender Milos Veljkovic, with the U20 World Cup winner signing a four-year contract. A statement read:
“SV Werder are delighted to announce a further acquisition in the transfer market. Milos Veljkovic has signed a contract at the Weser until 30/06/2019 from Tottenham Hotspur’s U21 side.”
In addition, the German side’s chief executive Thomas Eichin added:
“We have been monitoring Milos for a long time now and are pleased that he has now joined. This is an investment for the future.”
20-year-old Veljkovic found things difficult at Tottenham following his arrival in 2011 and has spent time on-loan with Middlesbrough and Charlton Athletic, whilst failing to make the grade at the North London side.
