Done Deal: Sunderland secure deal for 29-year-old striker

advocaatSunderland supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are becoming increasingly concerned by the lack of transfer activity at the Stadium of Light, so it comes as a major relief when our landlord points us in the direction of the club’s official site.

Dick Advocaat’s side have completed the signing of Swedish forward Ola Toivonen, a player the Sunderland boss knows well from his time in charge at Dutch giants PSV.

The Black Cats will be eager to add some more firepower to their squad after a start to the season that has seen them take just one point from a possible nine, and a plethora of Sunderland fans here in the Tavern are pretty happy with this signing, and feel Toivonen will add an extra element of potency in the final third!

Sunderland also hope to lure former Swansea midfielder Jonathan De Guzman to the Stadium of Light before the close of the transfer window, with negotiations over a loan move with Napoli still ongoing.

Our landlord here in the Tavern feels the club need a lot more to escape relegation, and says defensive additions are simply essential!

Sunderland fans, what would you consider a successful season after the start you have made? Let us know your thoughts below!
