The Sunderland supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern haven’t had much to shout about this season and with every defeat the possibility of relegation to the Championship increases.
One thing new boss Sam Allardyce is keen to do is breed the younger players into the first-team fold, one of which is attacking prospect Duncan Watmore.
The youngster netted during his Premier League debut back in August and looks to be an exciting talent to watch in the future.
A four-year extension to his existing contract has now been signed by the player and he will stay with the club until 2020.
The Tavern’s typically opinionated landlord thinks this is a great move for the club and feels the club will need to give players like Watmore a chance should they lose their Premier League status come the end of the season.
Sunderland fans.. Should Watmore be playing more? Just how good can the player be? Can he have a similar impact as Harry Kane at Spurs?
