The Tottenham Hotspur fans in The Transfer Tavern are having a game of darts and discussing reports that one of their youngsters has signed a new deal with the club.
The club confirmed the news via their official website that young midfielder Gavin Ward has extended his current deal with the club until 2018.
Upon signing his new deal with Spurs, he was immediately told that his loan with Rotherham United would be extended until the end of the season.
Ward himself is delighted that his loan with Rotherham has been extended, as speaking to the club’s official website he said:
“It’s taken a bit longer to get done but I’m very happy to have extended my loan until the end of the season. Since the gaffer has come in I’ve started more games and that’s important and I’m starting to see the progression in my career which I need at my age.”
“The fans have been really good to me since I’ve been here and that started in pre-season. That’s been massive for me and it’s given me a lot of confidence. I think there are about 17 games left and the aim is to stay up and I can’t see any reason why we can’t do that.”
The Rotherham fans in The Tavern are delighted Ward will remain with their club until the end of the season and have been impressed with his commitment to the club since joining on loan.
