Done Deal: Tottenham confirm agreement with talented defender

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern were very impressed with Kieran Trippier last season…

Though not particularly experienced as a first team player, he came into the starting eleven for Tottenham last season in place of Kyle Walker – and he exceeded all expectations in doing so.

Walker, who has years of experience to his name, struggled to get back into the first team, and the fact that Tottenham decided to sell the Englishman this summer proves just how impressive Trippier was for the Lilywhites.

Now Tottenham have seen fit to reward the defender for his fine form, confirming on their official Twitter page that he has signed a new contract through to 2022.

Trippier’s achievements simply cannot be understated. Walker was considered an undroppable at Tottenham for a number of years, and this is particularly significant given that the Tottenham defence has been considered amongst supporters as the strongest part of their first team.  The 26-year-old, though, managed to break that mould last season, and he hasn’t looked back.

Now, with Walker out of the door, he has a clear route to stay in the Tottenham first team – and the fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted.
