There was speculation over the summer months that Christian Eriksen might be set for a Tottenham departure, with the club and the player seemingly unable to come to an agreement on a new long-term deal for the Danish midfielder.
However, those rumours have now been put to rest – with confirmation coming from Tottenham today that Eriksen has signed a new long-term deal with the club.
The four-year deal will take Eriksen’s stint in a Tottenham shirt through to 2020.
Whilst Eriksen had rejected a deal prior to signing this one, the Tottenham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern recognise that he has been keen to sign a deal all summer – despite the fact that it took a long time to come to terms.
The Danish midfielder joined Tottenham in 2013 after a spell with Ajax, and has gone on to make 134 appearances for the club in all competitions.
He has become a crucial part of Mauricio Pochettino’s attacking outfit, providing strong set-pieces and delicate cross-field passing.
A favourite amongst everyone here in the Tavern, Christian Eriksen’s talents are clear for all to see.
