The West Ham supporters at the Football Transfer Tavern can finally toast a left back coming into the club to replace Aaron Cresswell.
After having bids rejected for various targets and Davide Santon failing a medical, the Hammers have signed French full back Arthur Masuaku from Olympiacos.
The 22-year-old Frenchman has signed for the club on a three-year deal for a fee of £6 million.
West Ham’s newest signing will be likely to start straight away in his favoured left back spot and the club have confirmed that he will be wearing the number 26 shirt.
Before he came in, right back Sam Byram had been playing at left back and right winger Michail Antonio was at right back, so this signing will probably delight these two players as they look to get back into their natural positions.
Due to this, our West Ham supporting punters at the bar of the Transfer Tavern have been desperate for a left back to come in and they now have their man!
Arthur Masuaku has a week to familiarise himself with the squad and get prepared for the first game of the season, as West Ham will be playing away against Chelsea on Monday 15th August, which could mark his debut.
