West Ham United fans here in the Transfer Tavern have just been alerted to some outgoing transfer news this morning with one Hammers die-hard spotting an article via BBC Sport, that confirms that striker Mauro Zarate has departed Upton Park to join Fiorentina.
The 28-year-old was signed from Argentinean side Velez Sarsfield in 2014 but struggled to hold down a regular place in the side, and was farmed out on loan to Queens Park Rangers.
He had netted five goals in 21 appearances for the Hammers this season, but a desire to play more frequent football has seen him move to pastures new.
The departure of the forward frees up both funds and space in the squad for a new striker and one Hammers fan is over by the jukebox choosing his favourite tracks – he thinks the club need to move fast in the hunt for a striker if they are serious about securing European football next season.
West Ham fans… Is this deal right for both parties? Let us know in the comments below!
