West Ham Fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have been going on about this deal for weeks, and after a summer of speculation; it has finally been confirmed.
The Hammers have been keen to bring in a striker all summer, and it appears that the search is finally over.
West Ham United have today confirmed that Argentine striker Jonathan Calleri has joined the club on a season long loan move.
The striker will become the sixth Argentine to pull on the claret and blue, and will now be eligible for The Hammers’ crunch Europa League play-off tie with Astra Giurgiu.
Calleri began his senior career with Argentine club All Boys, before going on for prolific spells with both Boca Juniors and Sao Paulo.
He had a pretty successful summer too, turning out for Argentina in the Rio Olympics and scoring a goal during his country’s spell in the competition.
