Wigan Athletic fans in the Transfer Tavern have a late deadline day signing to shout about after hearing reports that they have secured the services of a young striker with plenty to prove from the Premier League.
According to the BBC, Wigan have agreed a loan deal for Everton youngster, Conor McAleny, for the rest of the season.
The 23-year-old frontman spent time out on loan at Charlton Athletic and has previous loan spells at Cardiff, Brentford and Scunthorpe.
However, McAleny has not managed to break into the Everton first team and finds himself being loaned out to another club to gain valuable experience- and Wigan’s boss confirmed he held long-term interest in the player.
McAleny has made just over 22 appearances in his four loan spells and has only played 3 times for his parent club, Everton so will be looking to prove a point and hit a run of form with regular first-team football.
That is Wigan Athletic’s seventh signing of the transfer window so Latics fans can be more than happy with the business completed throughout January.
