Dortmund chief opens door for Liverpool transfer swoop

klopp0022Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern assembling for tonight’s game against Southampton are pleasantly surprised with reports from the continent, which indicate some high-profile deals can be made.

The Liverpool Echo quotes Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has confirming there is no agreement in place to stop the Reds signing any players from the Bundesliga club– and that there’s no issue with Klopp targeting his former employers for new signings.

“One thing is clear, we at BVB have a very good relationship with Jurgen. I think there would be no conflict were there to be interest in one of our players at some point. He would contact us before (he contacts the player).”

Klopp’s Liverpool side have made tremendous progress this season, taking 11 points from a possible 18 in the Premier League under the German, but January activity is likely as the Reds look to bolster their chances of returning to Champions League football.

Our Liverpool regulars believe that Dortmund is a brilliant place to go shopping and have dreamt of securing the likes of Marco Reus, Mats Hummels and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ever since Klopp took over at Anfield.
