Arsenal supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping for a productive transfer window and today’s The Express indicates that they could be in luck
The paper suggests that Arsene Wenger could move for Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff and Juventus’ young striker Sebastian Giovinco during the current transfer window as he looks to beef up his squad.
According to reports in France, Lyon are prepared to sell Gourcuff with a valuation of around £8 million likely to attract interest from the Premier League leader leaders who have been linked with him in the past.
The 26-year-old would certainly add to the Gunners squad but it is thought that a striker remains a priority for Wenger.
And now Juventus attacker Sebsatian Giovinco has also emerged as a prime target with the Italian club considering letting the 27-year-old depart the club before February.
He would fit the bill at the Emirates Stadium as Wenger tries to increase his striking options, although it is likely that the Serie A outfit will only let him leave on a loan deal.
The diminutive Italian international could take the place of the injured Theo Walcott in the Arsenal squad as they continue their title charge.
He is reportedly keen for regular football as he tries to nail down a place in his country’s World Cup squad and a short-term switch to the Emirates could be useful.
