The Hammers may have already added two attackers to their ranks ahead of next season but is seems that the East London outfit are still intent on strengthening.
According to the Daily Star, Sam Allardyce is keen to make more signings this summer but without breaking the bank.
The former Newcastle United and Bolton Wanderers boss, who has been challenged to excite demanding fans this summer, is closing in on Saphir Taider.
The 22-year old currently plays for Italian giants Inter Milan but it is thought the Algerian international would be keen on a move to the Premier League.
And according to reports, talks over a season-long loan with an option to buy the Algerian are now at an advanced stage.
Taider played twice for his country this summer at the World Cup in Brazil and joined Inter last summer from Bologna.
However he has found his opportunities limited in Italy and could be offered an escape route with the Hammers.
The Hammers are also keen on bringing Malaga’s Portuguese full back Vitorino Antunes in on loan with a view to a permanent £4 million deal next summer.
