Manchester City started the Premier League campaign in a dominant manner as they continue to push towards the Premier League title.
Indeed, the Citizens splashed the cash on Riyad Mahrez this summer as they hope to force a repeat of the last campaign. Although, it looks as if one of the other players at the club is receiving some recognition, as according to City Watch, Douglas Luiz could be called up to the Brazil squad soon.
Having been denied a work permit to play for Manchester City this season, Douglas Luiz is currently without a club to play his football at.
Pep Guardiola was unhappy with the decision, after both he and Brazil coach Tite sent arguments of support to the Home Office when City applied for a work permit.
And, Tite confirmed on Friday after naming his Brazil squad for the upcoming friendlies, that Douglas could be called up soon.
So, it looks as if Douglas Luiz is receiving international recognition despite failing to be granted a work permit, as a call-up to the Brazil squad may be just around the corner.
The midfielder showed plenty of promise during pre-season and could have stepped up to the plate as a regular first team member this season. But, he will now have to be shipped out on loan to another club in order to enjoy regular minutes, with no work permit to play at the Etihad.
