Most American and Canadian celebrities’ perception of “soccer” is alarming: from Tom Hanks supporting Aston Villa because “he liked the name”, Matt Damon not having a clue what he was watching at Stamford Bridge on Sunday , and Seth Rogen as a “fan” of Bournemouth after picking the club on Soccer AM.

One celebrity who claims to know about football though is Canadian singer Shania Twain, who apparently is an avid Spurs fan.

The singer, 43, has sold 65 million albums worldwide and is her album “Come on Over” is the best-selling album of all time for a female musician. Famous for hits like “You’re still the one” and “Man! I feel like a woman!”, Twain has scooped five Grammy Awards in her illustrious career.

Twain has visited White Hart Lane with ex-husband Robert Lange, who is a big Spurs fan, but whether she can tell her Roman Pavlyuchenko from Roman Abrahomovich remains to be seen.

The singer is one of a host of celebrities that follow Tottenham, with the likes of Jude Law, basketball star Steve Nash, Gavin and Stacey actor Matt Horne and Phil Collins fans of the London club.
