Drastic measures for West Ham fans as frustrating season continues at club

West Ham United fans here in the Tavern are less than impressed after the weekend’s 4-1 defeat, as the Hammers have been dragged right back into the relegation fight.

David Moyes will have been hoping for a victory against relegation contenders Swansea City on Saturday, but their trip to the Liberty Stadium was a disastrous one as a loss saw the Swans leapfrog them in the table. And, supporters are even less satisfied with the current position that the club currently finds itself in, as according to reports in the Evening Standard, the West Ham United Independent Supporters are hoping to stage a march before Saturday’s match at the London Stadium.

The Hammers will head into their all-important clash at home against Sean Dyche’s Burnley at the weekend amid an atmosphere of toxicity among a section of their supporters. Indeed, losing ground in the race for survival at the weekend saw defeat add to growing feelings of resentment towards the club’s owners, as relegation is now looking like becoming reality for the London club.

A planned protest march organised by Real West Ham Fans Action Group was cancelled on Friday following a meeting between fans’ groups and vice-chairman Karren Brady. But, West Ham United Independent Supporters are hoping to stage a march before the weekend’s game at the London Stadiun, as they look to have their feelings hit home before their season-defining encounter.

And, it’s believed that the protest will go ahead at the weekend but will take up a slightly different route, as supporters are set to voice their concern over the current direction of which the club is heading in.

Landlord’s Verdict:

The supporters are taking matters into their own hands after feeling like they’ve been mistreated by the owners, with many of our local residents hoping that the protest makes the club realise its problems. Although, negative vibes before arguably the most important match in their season could prove costly, as a hostile atmosphere won’t have a positive effect on the players during the game.
