Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has had a surprise ‘come get me’ plea from CSKA Moscow striker Seydou Doumbia. The former Young Boys frontman has not settled in the Russian capital after his summer move placing the weather as the main reason for his discomfort.
Doumbia, 22, an international teammate of Didier Drogba and Soloman Kalou has allegedly always been a Chelsea supporter and is now pushing for a move to the Blues.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper Doumbia said “It’s my dream to play in England – Moscow is too cold for me.”
He added “Chelsea have been my favourite team since I was a kid“ Whether this piece of media mongering will be enough to secure a move to Stamford Bridge is another matter entirely, as Chelsea will no doubt be seeking re-enforcements during the January transfer window.
Whether Ancelotti would see the Ivorian frontman as a good addition to a Blues squad already brimming with attacking options, after his less than acrimonious use of the media to try and force a move away from CSKA is this the type of player Chelsea would want on board.
It is believed a bid of £5 million would be enough to secure the 5 cap hitman’s signature.
