Tottenham supporters are in great spirits in the Football Transfer Tavern after an opening day victory over Crystal Palace while their continued activity in the transfer market has offered great hope for a productive season at White Hart Lane.
The Daily Star report that Spurs have successfully beaten Liverpool to Anzhi attacking midfielder Willian while the agent of Roma star Erik Lamela is expected to arrive in North London to finalise details ahead of a £30 million switch.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas wants to add further attacking options to his side as Gareth Bale looks set to make the switch to Real Madrid and he is confident of landing both Willian and Lamela before the Welsh international’s move is confirmed at the Bernabeu.
According to Italian reports, Lamela’s agent Pablo Sebbag, and Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini, are in the English capital to discuss the player’s move with Spurs technical director Franco Baldini.
The 21-year-old Argentine international, who scored 15 times his 35 appearances for the Serie A club last season, could arrive in a club record deal and will be offered a bumper four-year deal to make the switch to White Hart Lane.
Willian has now arrived into London to complete a medical before signing in a £30 million deal from Russia after Villas-Boas successfully beat Liverpool to the exciting attacking midfielder as the Portuguese manager seeks top class replacements for Bale.
