According to Italian media, Ganso, the 22 year old Brazilian midfielder is on the radar of Tottenham as the club prepares to replace the impending departure of Luka Modric, who aims to finalise his move to Real Madrid this week.
Ganso has played 1170 minutes of football this season totalling around 13 games, scoring 3 goals and assisting a further 3 goals too. But could he actually replace the experienced Luka Modric?
After Ganso rejected a contract extension from Santos which already sees him staying with the club till 2015, Spurs are one of only a few clubs who are interested in signing him, with Chelsea also rumoured to be interested.
I struggle to see Ganso as a viable option to take the club forward. With no Champions League experience nor any experience in any European League, this young starlet would find it hard to make the impact needed to take Tottenham into the Champions League, and spark the start of the AVB revolution.
However, with his main position playing off of the striker, it would be foolish for Tottenham to spend €18 million purchasing Ganso considering that it would be more sensible for the club to directly replace Modric.
With the likes of Sahin and Moutinho being linked to joining Spurs who have both won the League with their respective clubs, it would be a ridiculous decision for Modric to be replaced with a make-shift central midfielder.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
