The name Samuel Eto’o instantly receives raised ears in London with both Chelsea and Tottenham rumoured to be homing in on the Cameroon forward. Eto’o has continually been linked with a switch to the British capital this season after another extremely impressive season under his belt in Serie A.
He’s renowned for his quick pace and fierce strength making him more than a match for even the best defenders in the world. His 37 goals in all competitions this season just shows his thirst for goals, two of which coming in Inter’s impressive 3-1 Italian cup win against Palermo.
But the season hasn’t been as simple as the stats appear to show after originally looking unsettled with the Italian giants amid racial abuse from the Serie A terraces.
Despite this the Inter president Massimo Moratti announced he would welcome a return of Eto’o even before his dazzling performance in the cup final, although there was speculation that the club would in fact consider accepting offers in and around the €50 Million mark.
The future seems to be remaining in Italy now after a recent statement from Eto’o read: “The president has spoken and that is good enough for me. I want to remain at Inter and win more trophies.”
This leaves manager less Chelsea with one less option as Didier Drogba still appears to pushed out of the ever revolving door at Stamford Bridge with no one set to replace him, while for Tottenham, the failure to secure the Inter front man target could simple increase their interest in the out of favour Chelsea Hit man.
