€9M Bundesliga Goal Threat Has United Scouts Going Crazy

Shinji Kagawa is the subject of a potential €25m bid from Manchester United as Sir Alex Ferguson seeks central creativity reinforcements for his midfield.

The Japanese star, 22, has lit up the Bundesliga since joining Borussia Dortmund from Cerezo Osaka in 2010. His name has been linked with several big money moves this summer and as the transfer window comes to a close Manchester United are the club being touted to make a move.

The long transfer saga surrounding Wesley Sneijder seems to have reached its climax with the outcome being the wrong one as far as the Red Devil’s fans are concerned. Ferguson’s long standing Plan B has been a move for Shinji Kagawa to provide another classy body in central midfield.

After losing Scholes to retirement, It is no secret Manchester United are short on quality at centre mid. Anderson is a very capable player but beyond that they are lacking incisiveness and flair. Kagawa is a fully fledged international player with over 20 appearances and 7 goals. He has adapted well to the European leagues and boasts a Bundesliga winner’s medal already during his short tenure so far.

If the rumours are true, Kagawa would be a phenomenal addition to the Manchester United side. He is skilful, dangerous and represents a serious goal threat – something Man Utd need to regain after losing Paul Scholes’ long shot ability.

What do you think of Shinji Kagawa? Do you have another name in mind to replace the increasingly unlikely signing of Wesley Sneijder?
