According to the Sun, Barcelona are set to add Emmanuel Eboue to their Arsenal shopping list this summer. The Ivory Coast full back is out of contract in the summer and Pep Guardiola is planning to swoop.
Barca are reported by the Sun as looking to make 3 additions to their squad this summer. The long pursuit of Cesc Fabregas is the main target along with cover at right back and a new goalkeeper.
Eboue has had limited first team opportunities in recent seasons due to the performances of Bakary Sagna, with only 7 league starts this term. He is however an experienced international player and would be a solid free addition to Barca’s squad. Yet with the presence of Dani Alves at the Catalan giants, it would appear to be a signing to improve the squad rather than the first team.
Eboue has had a tumultuous relationship with Arsenal fans over the past 5 years, memorably being booed of after a miserable performance against Wigan in 2008. Yet if he were to leave the Gunners then Arsene Wenger would lose an experienced and versatile defender.
Eboue has made 174 appearances for Arsenal scoring 8 goals.
