Chelsea continue to go along quite nicely this season on all fronts, and remain in with a shout of getting to the League Cup final following this week’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal at the Bridge.
Over the years, the Blues have had some tremendous talent come through the door, and that has continued over recent times, with Eden Hazard developing into a genuine world class performer during his time a the club and becoming a man in big demand.
Here in the Tavern, our landlord thinks there might well be a chance we see Hazard leaving in the not too distant future, and he’s been scouting out potential replacements for the Belgian.
One such player who has caught his eye is current Ajax youngster and Dutch talent Justin Kluivert, who has been in tremendous form for his club this season following his big breakthrough campaign last term.
The teenager, who is highly-rated across the continent, could be the ideal sort of cushion if the Blues do end up losing their star man Hazard, and while he’s not in anyway the finished article, Kluivert would offer a big level of comfort if the club could sign him.
Classy on the ball, powerful and pacey for his age and with tremendous finishing ability, the Dutch youngster could well be the next big breakthrough star in world football, meaning Chelsea will have quite the player on their hands should they sign him.
