The Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern have been subjected to some serious grief over the last few weeks. The Birmingham club released a club statement today claiming that Keith Wyness has now left the club and that they will be happy to defend legal proceedings if called on to do so by their former Chief Executive.

The struggles that Villa finds themselves facing at the moment were completely of their own doing. The club gambled massively on gaining promotion back to the Premier League by spending vast amounts of money on transfers and player wages, with John Terry probably being an awful lot for his year with the club and large sums being splashed on Scott Hogan, Jonathan Kodjia and Ross McCormack.
The club were in serious danger of going to administration last week as the club’s owner, Dr Tony Xia has struggled with cash flow problems as Chinese laws are very strict on allowing money out of the country. However, the Villains managed to come to an agreement over a £4 million tax bill with HM Revenue and Customs after the club missed out on a £160 million cash influx that they would have received if they’d won the play-off final.

A nothing statement again…
The communication from the club is horrendous. The more the rumour mill turns, the worse it gets.

Feel that @retsub12 has let us down badly after all he said at fan forums and now this. Does he dislike us so much?

That's got to be the shortest, most pointless statement yet

The Villa fans in the Tavern are understandably fuming at the moment. The club spent excessive amounts of money on promotion and had no apparent plan for if they failed to achieve it, leaving themselves in the hot mess that they’re in now.
