The Liverpool fans are feeling optimistic in the Transfer Tavern as their side move towards the business end of the season in a fine run of form.
Plenty of The Reds faithful propping up our bar were concerned that the departure of Philippe Coutinho would tarnish their chances of finishing inside the top-four this season, but those fears have been firmly put to rest in recent weeks. Jurgen Klopp has found a winning formula in the absence of their Brazilian magician, as the front-three of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino consistently terrorise Premier League defences both home and away.
Liverpool’s improvement is widely tipped to continue beyond the end of the season due to the arrival of Naby Keita in central-midfield, although not everybody is so convinced by Keita’s capability to succeed in the top-flight.
The former Everton hero Leon Osman was talking about Keita on Radio 5 Live earlier this week, and he claimed that Keita’s price-tag is rather extortionate for a multitude of ill-informed reasons.
Osman’s comments suggest that he has barely seen the Guinea international in action for RB Leipzig recently, and the Liverpool supporters are far from happy with his outlandish statements that demonstrate a fundamental lack of understanding of what Keita will bring to the Premier League.
The fact that Osman enjoyed a rich playing career for Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals certainly hasn’t aided his cause, and the fans have not held back in their response to his comments regarding Naby Keita.
Here’s what The Reds faithful have had to say in response to Osman on Twitter…
Where to start.
– 'Premier League' – Narrow mindset, modern football is changing not just PL
– 'Only a destroyer' – misunderstands Keita + role
– 'Not on my radar' – not connected to assessment of player quality
– 'Have LFC looked' – I think scouts do their job

Danny Murphy and Danny mills are also awful culprits of this. Often refer to Naby as a DM. They think he may be a Kante of sorts. They literally have never seen him play, the combination of power, balance, pace, technique and ball control. The arrogance of pundits is scary

only a destroyer?? This guy's never seen him play

Another example of a former player being preferred in a punditry role over someone who actually researches and knows their stuff. Much prefer listening to the non ex-players sector of the media

How Can someone pay Leon Osman to talk?
— Christian Aasen (@ChrisAasen) February 28, 2018
He literally got everything wrong here.
