Arsenal fans here in the Tavern will be desperate to see a number of players join this summer, as they’ll be looking to secure a Champions League place next season.
Indeed, the Gunners will be disappointed with how their season panned out as they failed to qualify for the Champions League and lost out in the Europa League semi-final. Although, it looks as if Unai Emery is already eyeing up potential additions, as according to the Daily Mail, defender Caglar Soyuncu admits that Arsenal have shown an interest in signing him, with talks to continue in the coming weeks.
Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu has claimed that Arsenal have shown an interest in him and discussions over a move will continue in the coming weeks.
Talking to Turkish media, Soyuncu said: “Arsenal are one of the most important clubs in England. I know they’re interested in me, but there’s nothing finalised yet about my transfer.
“After the national team camp we’ll have talks.”
Indeed, it’s believed that Freiburg rate their young centre-back at around £35 million, but with Arsenal’s widely reported transfer budget of just £50m, there is still a lot of negotiating to do.
Caglar Soyuncu is the perfect defensive partner for Laurent Koscielny, as he is very calm on the ball and the Frenchman can always rely on the 22-year-old to step up if he goes missing, as consistency is what makes him such a promising talent. Therefore, many of our local residents are extremely excited, as the Gunners may finally be able to ensure solidity at the back. However, Unai Emery faces a wait to secure the central defender, as talks will continue after he has returned from international duty.
