Arsenal fans here in the Tavern will be desperate to see how their side get on next season after witnessing their inconsistencies in the campaign just gone.
Indeed, the Gunners will be looking to hit the ground running next season after failing to secure a Champions League spot. Although, they seem to be making all the right moves this summer, as according to the Telegraph, Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund.
The Gunners will pay £16 million for the central defender and it’s understood that he will put pen to paper on a three-year deal.
So, it looks as if Arsenal are set to secure their second summer signing after welcoming Stephan Lichtsteiner to the club on a free transfer from Juventus.
Arsenal are now on course for domination next season, with Lichtsteiner and Papastathopoulos strengthening the Gunners’ defence massively, so they won’t have to worry about a lack of defensive solidity anymore. Indeed, Arsenal were always dominant in the final third but they did struggle to keep the opposition at bay at times, so bringing in a second defensive player will put them up there as strong title contenders for trophies and the Premier League title.
