Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern will be encouraged with how life under Unai Emery has already begun and will be looking forward to the start of the Premier League season.
The Spaniard arrived at the Emirates Stadium following the departure of Arsene Wenger and has already been busy rebuilding the side to ensure they can qualify for the Champions League once again.
The Gunners have already added Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus and appear to have lined up a number of other targets who are thought to be on the verge of heading to north London. One possible man is Bernd Leno and according to reports, that potential addition could see one man leave.
Gazzetta dello Sport (via The Daily Mail) are claiming that Petr Cech could head to Napoli on loan with the Italian side looking to replace the outgoing Pepe Reina. Should the Germany international arrive from Bayer Leverkusen, it could pave the way for the experienced Czech to head to the Serie A and rejoin Carlo Ancelotti.
The decision by Emery to bring in a new goalkeeper will delight the locals in the Tavern as they will feel that Cech’s best years are behind him. The 36-year-old, who is entering the final year of his contract, would likely be sitting on the bench if Leno does arrive and could look to move in his quest for first-team football.
However, it would remain to be seen if Arsenal would allow him to leave on loan or if they would try and get a transfer fee out of him, with just 12 months left on his present deal.
