According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United’s Dimitar Berbatov could be on his way to Russian big-spenders Anzhi Makhachkala according to his agent Emil Danchev. Berbatov was United’s top goalscorer least season, but has found this season rather unsettling. It has been quite astonishing that a player of his stature has not moaned or complained once about being left out of the team which has shown what a great professional he truly is.
Anzhi have already invested heavily on one striker this past summer in Samuel Eto’o, and if the Bulgarian were to follow, there partnership could prove to be as deadly as it sounds. Berbatov may be lethargic, but he is slick and gifted with intelligence and technical brilliance which would compliment a player like Samuel Eto’o.
Berbatov’s agent, Emil Danchev, has admitted that he has cast doubts over his client’s welfare, and believes his lack of playing time could force a move to Russian side Anzhi once a deal has been struck.
His agent told the Daily Mirror: “We would be interested when Anzhi make a concrete offer,”
“We will sit down with Dimitar and ponder this.”
“I don’t know if Dimitar is happy in Manchester. He plays, then he just sits on the bench.”
Berbatov, 30, could earn as much as £7.5 million pounds a season with Anzhi, according to reports. United would be willing to let the 30-year-old leave old Trafford with such a generous offer being thrown at them. It does appear that the Russian’s are willing to spend £15 million on the Bulgarian striker which will come as a great delight to both concerning parties. Negotiations between Berbatov’s agent and Anzhi’s representatives are set to continue, with a possible move in the January transfer window hopefully on the cards.
