The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been waxing lyrical about their young-breakout right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold. The young defender won his second cap as Gareth Southgate started him against Belgium last night and other than the result, it was a good evening for the 19-year-old.

Alexander-Arnold came to prominence around a year ago when he stepped up for Liverpool in their Champions League qualifier against Hoffenheim. The youngster scored his first goal for the Kopites with a sublime free-kick and from there he only went from strength to strength, eventually starting in the Champions League final in Kiev against Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo to finish off a whirlwind debut season at club level.
Alexander-Arnold has now been reaping the rewards of his club season as he was a surprise inclusion to Gareth Southgate’s England squad and has now played his first minutes in a major tournament for his country. It’s unlikely that he will be called upon for England’s game against Colombia on Tuesday night with Kieran Trippier expected to come back in after being rested for the Belgium game, but that won’t stop our proud Kopites from raving over their young right-back.
You can see what the Reds’ made of Trent’s performance yesterday evening here:
His delivery has been pretty poor this first half but other than that he's playing well

Great to see him starting. Should of came on as a sub lsst game imo but great to see him not only starting but given corner and free kick duties. So confident for his age

My fear is this might be spelling the end of Clyne's Lfc career

The Liverpool fans in the Tavern will be hoping they can see more of Alexander-Arnold this tournament as they continue to enjoy his brilliance.
