The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been refusing to get their hopes up over the potential transfer of Anthony Martial, despite a report in the Daily Express that claims the clubs have opened talks over the deal.

Tottenham have made Anthony Martial one of their top transfer targets this summer and Mauricio Pochettino will be optimistic over landing his man. The Frenchman has been a long-term target for Spurs and the club narrowly missed out on him back in his Lyon days, instead watching him make the switch to Old Trafford whilst they ended up signing Clinton N’Jie from France.
This summer the Lilywhites could be back in for Martial and with United looking to sell the Frenchman they’re not the only club who want to sign him. Juventus are also keen on the winger’s signature whilst Chelsea are in a similar position to Spurs having held a long-term interest in the 22-year-old. The summer could be a big one for Tottenham fans as the club are looking into the signing of a number of other targets, with a serious push for silverware on the cards in the new season.

As you can see, the Tottenham fans in the Tavern aren’t getting their hopes up this time around and most of them will have to believe it when they see it.
