England player potentially sets record of different kind

delphLast night England midfielder Fabian Delph potentially set the record for the shortest appearance of all time.

The all action midfielder got injured just NINE seconds into England’s Euro 2016 qualifier match against Switzerland last night, and was substituted within a minute.

Aston Villa fans watching the game in the Transfer Tavern last night were rolling around with laughter, with pints being spilt all over the place as they watched their former captain pull up with a hamstring injury. An injury that looks like he could be set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Our regular Villa fans are very bitter toward the player, who comically said he was going to stay at the club after Manchester City’s original interest in him stating his loyalty to the club, only to perform a U turn and sign for the Manchester outfit days later.

The injury looks like a repeat of the one he suffered in his first appearance for Manchester City in pre season, where he went off after 17 minutes, and has only just recently come back from.
