England set to leave 24-goal striker on the bench for Euro 2016 opener

jamie vardyjamie vardydLeicester City hotshot Jamie Vardy is set to be left on the bench when England take on Russia in their Euro 2016 opener tomorrow evening, according to the Daily Mail.

The report suggests that Vardy is set to be left out with England boss Roy Hodgson instead preferring the more natural width of Raheem Sterling and Adam Lallana on the flanks, much to the dismay of several England followers here in the Transfer Tavern.

Vardy has risen from non-league mediocrity to Premier League champion in a little over four years and his 24-goal haul last season had seemingly done enough to confirm a starting berth for tomorrow evening, although that doesn’t look to be the case.

One Leicester City and England supporter is sat chatting about England’s chances at the Euros with his pals in the Tavern’s smoking area and he thinks leaving Vardy out is a complete joke, stating that the three lions deserve everything they get if they leave their best players out at the tournament.

Leicester City fans, what do you make to this news? Would Vardy get the nod if you were picking the team?
