Manchester United’s hopes of signing Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane have taken a further blow after the striker revealed that he wants to remain with London club for the foreseeable future. Something our Spurs fans have been celebrating over a few extra pints today.
The England international has admitted his looking forward to leading the line for Spurs when they move to their new stadium in 2018 and is optimistic of what the club can achieve in the future.
According to the Mirror, the Red Devils were planning a £40m move for the young forward during the summer transfer window, but were rebuffed in their efforts by the north London club, with Daniel Levy making it clear to the Manchester club that they would not allow their top scorer from last season to leave.
Harry Kane, currently on international duty with England, had a fantastic season last term, scoring 31 goals in all competitions and was named PFA Young Player of the Year after being given his first real chance in the first team by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The 22-year-old forward has spent his whole career at the club and further committed his future to them by signing a new contract until the summer of 2020. He revealed he was aware of the interest in him, but reiterated his hope to stay at Tottenham and lead them to successful in future years.
