Manchester United fans here in the Tavern will be hoping that their side can challenge for silverware in the next campaign after failing to meet expectations this season.
Sadly, Jose Mourinho wasn’t able to work his magic this season as United’s biggest achievement was finishing second in the Premier League. And, it looks as if United could be saying goodbye to one of their youngsters this summer, as according to Sun Sport, Bristol City want ‘keeper Dean Henderson and Cardiff and Aston Villa are interested in Sam Johnstone.
Bristol City manager Lee Johnson has cash to spend on a new No 1 and it’s believed that he made personal checks on Dean Henderson during his loan spell at Shrewsbury this season.
Interestingly, it’s understood that Henderson is keen to move away from Old Trafford and could be swayed by the offer of Championship football at Ashton Gate next season.
Although, Henderson may not be the only departure this summer, as Sam Johnstone is receiving interest from Aston Villa and Cardiff City.
Dean Henderson has been impressive since joining Shrewsbury Town as he has helped them reach the League One play-off final. So, the youngster will definitely be looking to play Championship football next season, with a move to Ashton Gate being just reward for the talented shot-stopper’s efforts. And, with Sam Johnstone possibly looking to enjoy regular first-team football, perhaps United will be waving goodbye to two young goalkeepers.
