Arsenal are preparing a January move for Valencia midfielder Ever Banega reports CaughtOffside.com
The 23-year-old Valencia play-maker is currently on Arsene’s radar and has also attracted plenty of interest from across Europe. Banega endured a horrid start to life at the Mestalla, he had only made 12 appearances for the club before being loaned out to Atletico Madrid. The youngster’s credibility was further dampened when he was involved in a web-cam scandal in Argentina in 2008.
Following his return from Atlético, it appeared that the Argentinean starlet was set to join Premiership club Everton. However due to work permit problems the move did not materialise.
Banega has been a regular ever since and has really turned his career around. His ability to read the game and his excellent passing ability have drawn plaudits and recognition from managers across Europe.
Banega is most comfortable as a defensive midfielder and boasts skills that not too many others in his position can possess. He has the ability to combine the tactical discipline of a defensive minded player with the ability to pass and create of an offensive minded player.
Banega’s versatility could prove to be fundamental, as he is the type of player that Wenger admires. Wenger believes he is the type of player that can compliment the more creative players like Jack Wilshire and Mikel Arteta. As the Argentine warrior isn’t a household name, Valencia shouldn’t be demanding too much money for the 23-year-old.
