He’s a player both Harry Redknapp and Arsene Wenger have had their eye on for some time now; according to reports, since 2009, with both clubs also making formal enquiries as to his availability following his displays for Germany during the 2010 World Cup.
However, it now appears that Serdar Taşçı will be leaving current club Stuttgart in January, after the club’s chief representative, Oliver Minzlaff, confirmed there is interest in the defender.
“There is interest from the Premier League but it is still early, we will have to all have a talk in the break. But we will see” Mintzlaff told Sport.co.uk.
Stuttgart are currently embroiled in a relegation battle at the bottom of the Bundesliga, and following the sacking of manager Jan Keller last week, 23-year-old Taşçı is keen to leave a club which he, quite simply, is too good for!
A move to London looks to be on the cards, with Spurs and Arsenal set to battle it out come January to sign the highly-rated stopper, for a projected fee of around £10m.
